U.S. EPA Clean Diesel Rebates – School Bus Rebate

EPA offers rebates in addition to grants to reduce harmful emissions from older, dirtier diesel vehicles. The rebate program has funded vehicle replacements or retrofits for over 600 vehicles to date. Typically, the rebate application period opens in the fall and projects are completed in less than one year.

Congestion Mitigation & Air Quality Program

Public Fleets operating in the WI non-attainment and Maintenance counties eligible for a variety of diesel related projects. Applications open in odd years.

Wisconsin Diesel Truck Idling Reduction Program

The Wisconsin Department of Administration provides grant funding to reduce diesel truck idling. DOA provides grants to freight motor carriers (common, contract and private motor carriers) headquartered in Wisconsin to purchase and install idling reduction units for newer truck tractors.

U.S. EPA Clean Diesel National Grants

Eligible diesel emission reduction solutions include verified emission control technologies such as exhaust controls, cleaner fuels, and engine upgrades, verified idle reduction technologies, verified aerodynamic technologies and low rolling resistance tires, certified engine replacements, and/or certified vehicle or equipment replacement. Eligible entities include regional, state, or local agencies, tribal governments (or intertribal consortia) and native villages, or port authorities, which have jurisdiction over transportation or air quality, and nonprofit organizations or institutions that: a) represent or provide pollution reduction or educational services to persons or organizations that own or operate diesel fleets, or b) have, as their principal purpose, the promotion of transportation or air quality.
